Paradise Australia Music Workshop on 16 Aug

daren on August 12th, 2008

YAY!! The Worship Band from Paradise Community Church is back in Malaysia.

Paradise is from Adelaide, Australia and we have sung many songs from Paradise in our church. In fact we really love their old albums …. (my fav is Unspeakable Joy!).

Paradise is also the church where Guy Sebastian is from and that was where he sky rocketed to fame when he won the Australian Idol a couple of years ago.

So they will be holding a Music Workshop on 16 August 2008 - this coming Saturday in Petaling Jaya!

Song : Come Holy Spirit (GTPJ)

daren on August 3rd, 2008

We had an amazing time of worship this weekend in Church. God’s presence was just so so GREAT in all the 3 worship services on Saturday & Sunday.

I really believe GOD is doing something wonderful in Glad Tidings PJ!

It was rather funny cos we had planned to sing GREAT IS THE LORD as our fourth song, but it just never happened, Ps Gwen who was leading that song just changed the song sequence as the Spirit of God moved. :) Love that!

We had the opportunity to teach another locally written song called COME HOLY SPIRIT this weekend in church, its a slow song and with a simple & catchy chorus.

The song in its entirety based on Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Worship Blog Updates

daren on August 2nd, 2008

We received an interesting email last week!

First and foremost we apologize for the lack of updates, i have been super busy this entire month, and although i would very much like to blog about This Is Our God and All for Love, i just can’t seem to get the time. So sorry about that delay!

Then to further delay this entire blog update, i received an email this week from the Manager of Music Services based in Tenesse USA. Apparently what i am sharing on the worship blog is not correct, although i do not have any direct downloads, but apparently lyrics are not allowed to be posted unless there’s permission.

So I’ll be changing the format of this blog slightly to accommodate his request and to ensure that there’s no infringement of copyright acts. :( But sigh .. some of the posts without the lyrics doesn’t really make sense … but we’ll see how this slowly change-lah!

So bear with us for a bit as we make changes to the Worship Blog!!

*** Chris Tomlin, Charlie Hall & Louie will be performing LIVE tonite at Sunway Convention!! Woo Hoo! All 4,000 tickets have been sold out! For those of you who managed to get ticktes have a BLESSED time tonite! And tell us about it :)

true-worshippers-all-things-newThis is an awesome song from True Worshippers All Things New album.

The song called Dalam Kasih Mu Bapa (In My Father’s Love) is an excellent slow song for worship.

The song is sang by Ruth Sahanaya which is one of Indonesia’s most famous singers. She is part of the 3 divas (Kris Dayanti, Titi DJ & her) and have toured the world under the Banner “Diva Indonesia“.

For Malaysians, this means that Ruth is the equivalent of our Sheila Majid who is professionally well known all over Malaysia, but just that Ruth Sahanaya is a dedicated Christian believer and serves along in the True Worshippers band! :) Awesome rite? Read her interview with a local Radio dude here!

Enter His Gates - Glad Tidings PJ - Hwee YenWoo Hoo!! Hwee Yen wrote a new song two weeks ago and we managed to learn the song and sang it in church yesterday during the Young Adults Service in GTPJ.

Enter His Gates talks about Entering His Gates with thanksgiving and Entering His Courts with Praise!

Joel Houston - BackFirst and foremost, my humble apologies for not updating the worship blog for so long. Busy is an understatement!!

And yes, i’ve been waiting to talk about Hillsong United at my church for the longest time, and finally today, i managed to find some time to share UNITED with you. :)

For those of you who were there on 28 May 2008, i am sure you totally enjoyed yourself, and was fully immersed in WORSHIP.

Like the pic? Big Thanks to Daniel, i love the play of colors and the focus on the foreground with the people in background. Absolutely lovely!

Will share more pictures (tks to Daniel) with you, and my experience of their song … From The Inside Out. That nite was absolutely packed, literally like sardines, with up to 3000 people in Glad Tidings, Maranatha Hall.

The atmosphere was electrifying, everyone was just hungry to worship, it was trully a worship leader’s dream.

Let me tell u why . . .

Youth Band in Main WorshipI can’t agree with this article more! How many of you include your young people into your main worship teams/bands?

If you had the choice of having enough resources on your main worship team, would you include the youth band or team with your main? Or would the youth play for their service and the main service have a separate set.

The first week of May saw the “debut” of the Youth Band in the GT Worship Main Service. In fact they took all the three services from Sat to Sun.

I trully believe in raising up the next generation and feel that they have a lot to contribute and to give. Though skills and experience may differ from a the main church worship team, but they too have their own niche.

I believe more important was their hearts of worship. Their passion to serve, their ability to give their talents to God. And it was an amazing blessing that weekend to both the band and the church.

They were totally dedicated and committed to the task, and how many of u remember not being able to sleep, cos u were gonna playing the guitar for service the next day? Remember those first few times?
