Worship Backgrounds - Resource

daren on March 22nd, 2008

With technology coming in play in most churches, its rare that you ever see an OHP (aka Overhead Projector) displaying lyrics of the songs that we sing in church. I remember growing up in church where we would seldom hear people clapping when we sing fast songs, because everyone was holding the “Scripture in Chorus” songbook as they sang along with the song leader.

Then came the revolutionary Microsoft Powerpoint in the 90s which enabled churches with an LCD Projector to start putting up lyrics on a screen so that the congregation can clap, dance and celebrate along with the worship team.

And not too long ago, programs like Mediashout, EasyWorship started entering churches in Asia, where instead of boring black & white lyrics, you can now enhance the visual with colorful background.

So where am i leading with this? I just received an email from WorshipBacks, and they are an online web resource for those that needs vivid or thematic backgrounds for your church worship screen.

I just popped over to their website and it does look neat!

I’ve just pulled out a sample below, meanwhile check them out at http://www.worshipbacks2008.net/

Rather interesting tool. I actually like their slogan .. “Great Ingredients for Worship”.

Worship Kitchen offers a Player which is FREE to download and they put in links where you can download singles and chords and other resources. (But those downloads are not free, worshipkitchen will point you to the official website where you have to purchase them).

But its great if let’s say you were looking for a song in the Key of A. You can click on it, and it will display all the Songs in A. If you choose on a specific song that you want, you can then opt to buy it online. (I guess for peeps that don’t have a large collection of CDs, this tool may be rather useful).

WorshipKitchen and you will find the the resources you need to plan your
worship services right at your fingertips. It is FREE and Fast, and you will
have the option to sign up for a FREE TRIAL MEMBERSHIP or
take advantage of Free Downloads as they come available.

WorshipKitchen offers you the choice of purchasing resources one-by-one
as you need them, or you can join as a member allowing you access to many
downloads per month.

Purchase and download resources at the touch of a button, as you plan
your service.

Play and organize them on your computer, or transfer them to disc,
MP3Player, or to your worship team through the ministry manager tool.

Learn Guitar with Paul Baloche

daren on June 29th, 2007

This is a pretty cool DVD for beginners. Was talking to some friends from Church on how one can improve on our basic music skills. Most of us take formal training, in our childhood; and in the Formal Training in Childhood, they do not teach you to play songs used in church. You’ll most probably learn the Fur Elise and all the Classicals, and you will be forced to memorize your 4 piano pieces for your exams.

However Church playing is different. We use Chords … we play in differnent “moods”, where we can start slow and build to strong finish and of course, many times we move into Free Worship. So moving on from the classical musical training … let’s see what Paul has to toffer.

What better way to learn how to play the Guitar than from Paul Baloche himself. He’s a great guitarist and an anointed worship leader. Learn how to play songs like Here I Am To Worship, Blessed Be Your Name, Open The Eyes of My Heart, How Great is our God and Come, Now is the Time to Worship.

Perhaps this would be a good DVD for your Church to purchase and lent it out to your members, especially if you have small/cell groups sessions.

Read on about Paul’s new Beginning Guitar DVD below.
