This is Amazing news, as the press goes crazy with the American voting decision of their choice of Kris Allen as the current season’s winner of the American Idol !!! Woo Hoo!

Kris Allen is a Worship Leader at the New Life Church, Arkansas in both the Conway and Little Rock campsuses since 2007. He’s also involvedin the  Chi Alpha campus ministry at Uni of Central Arkansas.

And now he’s the winner of one of the biggest reality tv shows of the world. Wow! This is an amazing Testimony for a believer to be on front stage singing to millions! :) Think of the amazing opportunity to be a blessing and a witness for God! :)

This year’s American Idol saw three church worship leaders:

  • Kris Allen
  • Danny Gokey – leads worship at Faith Builders International Ministry
  • Michael Sarver – leads worship at Harvest Church Jasper, Texas

I believe this is just a great and fantastic opportunity to see how God can use talented musicians and singers place them at position to impact the world thru songs!

I hope that in Kris Allen’s new album, he will release songs of Hope, songs of God’s promises, songs that will bless many hearts ….

Woo hoo!! Go Kris Allen GO!

NEWS: Kris Allen topples Adam Lambert in ‘Idol’ stunner

The strummer slipped past the screamer.

In the biggest upset in “American Idol” history, 23-year-old acoustic guitar player Kris Allen was named this season’s champion over 27-year-old glam rocker Adam Lambert, the front-runner for several weeks.

Allen seemed stunned by his victory.

“Are you friggin serious?” he asked host Ryan Seacrest on live TV after Seacrest announced his win. “It feels good, man, but Adam deserves this – I’m sorry, I don’t even know what to feel right now. This is crazy!”

Lambert had been heavily favored by the judges and such media as Entertainment Weekly. With almost 100 million votes recorded, the Fox music competition set a record for itself, but Seacrest divulged no information on Allen’s margin of victory.

Did Allen pick up third-place finisher Danny Gokey’s votes? Is America unable to accept an “Idol” champion who might be gay? Was this another skirmish in the culture wars? Or did the Lambert love train just derail from the weight of the hype? The morning-after debates will be robust for some time.

Not so much the actual show itself, which clocked in at two hours and seven minutes and seemed more like an extended, inadvertent tribute to 1982, the year Lambert was born. Queen, KISS, Rod Stewart, Steve Martin, Cyndi Lauper and Lionel Richie were among the guests appearing for duets with various combinations of the final 13 contestants.

A few of the performers, such as Jason Mraz and Keith Urban, still sell records today.

During Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas’ performance of “Boom Boom Pow,” the sound went out and the camera focused on the “Idol” logo for a few seconds. Was it a technical bug or a Fox censor hitting the button?

In its annual Golden Idol awards, “Idol” resurrected some of its most notorious contestants, including “Bikini Girl” Katrina Darrell, who showed off a new, top-heavy look.

In a taped segment, last year’s winner, David Cook, presented Lambert and Allen with keys to their own Ford hybrids, rewards for making a season’s worth of those horrid music videos for the chief “Idol” sponsor. Viewers get nothing for suffering through them.

Alas for Allen, he is contractually bound to record for his first single “No Boundaries,” co-written by judge Kara DioGuardi, and a ballad he’s now proven twice on live TV that he cannot master.

During one cutaway to the audience, the camera settled on Ruben Studdard, the second-season winner who has struggled in recent years. The message was clear: Today’s “Idol” can just as easily be tomorrow’s seat filler.

  1. Dude! You forget Matt Giraud, who already had 2 Christian R&B CD’s out BEFORE he was on idol!

  2. GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL. HE DOES THINGS TO SAME THE WISE.

  3. woo hoo? a worship leaders puts down his resposibilities in the church and goes to a secular show and sings secular songs and now tours with other “idols” doing anything but spiritual stuff and he get’s a woo hoo? are you serious?

The christian world should be saddened by the news not overjoyed, God never needs people to enter the secular to “save” the people of the world, for goodness sake HE IS A HOLY GOD, i wish some people will study and review what God’s holiness means and maybe we will get a clearer picture of how winning Idol is nothing to shout about.
