Song : Come Holy Spirit (GTPJ)
We had an amazing time of worship this weekend in Church. God’s presence was just so so GREAT in all the 3 worship services on Saturday & Sunday.
I really believe GOD is doing something wonderful in Glad Tidings PJ!
It was rather funny cos we had planned to sing GREAT IS THE LORD as our fourth song, but it just never happened, Ps Gwen who was leading that song just changed the song sequence as the Spirit of God moved. 
Love that!
We had the opportunity to teach another locally written song called COME HOLY SPIRIT this weekend in church, its a slow song and with a simple & catchy chorus.
The song in its entirety based on Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
The verse starts with “Empower me”, the chorus ends with “I will Rise to the Call!”. Its the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in our lives to anoint us and to give us a passion for the lost so that we can Rise Up to the Call as believers to be witnesses to the world!
The song was written by Hwee Yen and me … err well to really put it into perspective, this was what happened.
On 1st of July … i was awakened at about 2am in the morning with this urge to write a song about Acts 1:8. The first draft was finished that morning and emailed out to a few frens.
[Just to add .. that the last line in the Chorus ... "I will Rise to the Call" ... took more than 20 minutes!] Its so hard to write a simple line in a song! hehe Plus i ain’t no expert.
Then on the 4 July after a worship practise, a couple of us came together to try and put some music to it. Oh yes.. i only had the words on 1 July!
Then on 9 July Hwee Yen got a tune to the chorus … and from then onwards it was a whole lot of refining and changing to the song to how it was finally sung today.

I think the new worship song is great. It is easy to sing and certainly got the congregation (especially the second service) flowing in the spirit. God has given you guys a gift, continue to build on it.
My only comment is the title of the new song. Come Holy Spirit is already the title of the other ‘Come Holy Spirit’ song. Perhaps, you should consider another title e.g. Let The Holy Fire Fall.

I’m glad you listened and responded to the Lord’s prompting, even at 2am to write it. The fruit of your obedience has taken the worship experience in GT to a new level. Expect greater things! I’m so excited for you.
This is the season of the Spirit’s outpouring. It’s evident in our church here in Texas as well. A couple weeks ago, our church experienced a similar move of God that was ushered in through worship. And this happened to both our services as well, it’s a big church like GT and we’re not accustomed to breaking the order of service. But the sweet presence of the Holy Spirit was present, real and moving in the congregation (and the band too) that the pastor opened up the service for ministry and had to concise his message down to literally 5 mins both times.
This has brought great anticipation in our services for a regular tangible visitation of God’s presence. In the last couple weeks we’ve had some amazing miracles of healing, from deaf ears to deadly cancer, and this is a WEEKLY thing, furthermore, the ones being healed are members of our church prayed for by our laeity, regular church folk, not some healing evangelist!
I think there’s a shift that’s happening in what we consider “church-as-usual” because God is beginning to pour out His Spirit in greater measure, and His anointing is not for a select few, but to his Bride, the church, to any who would choose to walk in obedience and flesh out his faith, like you did.
Exciting times, lets see what else God will do!

Wow .. kev, GOD is indeed moving all over the world. That’s exactly what happened to us too on our Saturday service, Ps Julie in the end didn’t get to preach, it was a time of ministry, praying for specific responses and HEALING was a special call too!!

Hey Daren, awesome song!!! Hey, since it’s copyright, can I use it for our Missions Conference in October? This is a great song that fits perfectly with our Missions Conference since there’s such an emphasis on the Holy Spirit’s power for evangelism. The song has powerful lyrics and the chord changes is very moving and inspirational. Let me know when you guys come up with a CD. We’ll use the songs here in Hawaii. Blessings…
