Joel Houston - BackFirst and foremost, my humble apologies for not updating the worship blog for so long. Busy is an understatement!!

And yes, i’ve been waiting to talk about Hillsong United at my church for the longest time, and finally today, i managed to find some time to share UNITED with you. :)

For those of you who were there on 28 May 2008, i am sure you totally enjoyed yourself, and was fully immersed in WORSHIP.

Like the pic? Big Thanks to Daniel, i love the play of colors and the focus on the foreground with the people in background. Absolutely lovely!

Will share more pictures (tks to Daniel) with you, and my experience of their song … From The Inside Out. That nite was absolutely packed, literally like sardines, with up to 3000 people in Glad Tidings, Maranatha Hall.

The atmosphere was electrifying, everyone was just hungry to worship, it was trully a worship leader’s dream.

Let me tell u why . . .

Click play on the video (not gtpj), and let the song play as you read the rest of the post . . .

Ps Raymond and I were standing at the back, near the entrance, exchanging a few remarks, we were both widely smiling, looking ahead, we saw thousands and thousands of hands lifted up. Joel Houston and the United Band was playing, they rarely sang through out that song. The crowd was deep in worship, and just singing from their hearts ….. and the crowd was just singing and worshipping louder than the band. (and mind you we had good [audio] speakers that nite!) … it was simply beautiful! Yup … every worship leader’s dream. :)

That was what i experienced when the United band played From The Inside Out ….. it was just electrifying, the lead guitarist started the notes for the intro to the song, and everyone sort of cheered and jumped in hesitation, the keyboardist, drummer and guitarists started playing the song, and the crowd just went wild into worship!

I am not exagerating when i said that the crowd was just so so so deep into worship, it was simply beautiful, you can sense God smiling down and just receiving and embracing the incense of praise and worship as believers adored and loved our amazing God through worship.

Hillsong United brought a small team of approx 16 people, where half of them were on stage and the other half were supporting either at the AV Table or elsewhere. The band that was on stage was minimal, with Joel leading, and just two other singers (guy & girl), two electric guitarist, a drummer and a keyboardist. And yet the music played was just like the CD!! :)

I am sure you can imagine how everyone reacted, when they played songs like Solution, Take It All, One Way … yup total frenzy and praise and awesome worship in the presence of GOD! :) hehe

The anointing of God was so evident and i know that many were just blest worshipping in the presence of God! If you were there … share with us which was your fav song, and how you were blest that nite when United came to Malaysia.

Check out some really awesome photos below, and I”ll add some other bloggers who also shared similiar experiences that nite.

    Dear Wilazz
:) yeah it was an amazing nite of worship. And its a pleasure to link! ;)

  10. hello

united came to singapore too, just before malaysia

if i’m not mistaken, the electric guitarist / vocalist is Jad Gilles, the composer and singer of quite a few songs on the CDs.

the female vocalist is annie garratt I think…not too sure. she’s the same person featured on the “Came to the Rescue” song on the “United We Stand” album DVD.

I’m not sure about the names of the other band members though.

  11. Yeah, it was a great concert indeed. And worshipping God together with so many people is nice too.
btw I think you forgot to mention about the bass guitarist.

  12. Hi there Darren,

Thanks for the linked. Have a nice day and GOD Bless!!
