How much protein do I eat on ketogenic diet?
I'm going on a ketogenic diet so I can lose body fat but not weight, how many calories should I go for?
I am happy with my weight 110 112 lbs for 5 foot 3 inches but I want to lose body fat at about 16 17 % but want around 13 14 % and I am doing a ketogenic diet. I am very active, I workout 6 days a week for 40 60 min intensely usually a combination of HIIT and other metabolic training exercises. According to my heart rate monitor using my weight and age I burn between 500 600 kcal per workout session. How low should I go with calorie consumption? I've seen recommendations for as low as 1200 kcal but I'm thinking I may lose too much weight with that and I don't feel full eating that much, even on a high fat diet.

I'm a female, 10 stone 7 pounds, 5'7, and 17 years old. my body fat is about 29 %. I want to get this down to 20 % and lose a stone maybe. I have been dieting for a year and have only lost a stone, my uncle tried a ketogenic diet and he has lost weight a lot more quickly. I just need help on how to start it? What's the maximum amount of carbs I should be eating a day? Do you still have to count calories or does that not matter? How much protein? etc. I am also basically a vegetarian, but am willing to eat chicken or fish for the diet. i'm only vegetarian coz i was brought up this way and the thought of most meat makes me feel ill I am also allergic to nuts which makes it kinda awkward... so if anyone could suggest some no carb foods or meal plans it would be most appreciated. Also how long does it take for you body to get into ketosis, and how long must you stick with it for? Are you allowed any cheat days?

Has anybody here tried a ketogenic diet? What effect has it had on you. I have a hard time believing you can make muscle while losing fat on a keto diet. Is it more expensive to buy ingredients for a keto diet? And is it more effective for losing fat than a low carb diet? Thanks for your responses.EDIT Don't hope to build muscle while on keto. Effects of a ketogenic diet.?
I've done some mixed reading here and there and I'm looking for a solid source of information about the effects of ketogenic diets on the body.I'm currently in the Delayed Entry Program for the United States Marine Corps and I'm interested in looking into this type of diet to drop a few more of those " nasty civilian pounds." I'll break my question down into a couple different areas of concern.1. What health risks should I be aware of depriving the body of carbohydrates? Can ketosis severely impact my health? Is ketoacidosis something to worry about or is that mostly evident in diabetics?2. In replacing most of the carbs in my diet with proteins and other fats, will a urine analysis send any red flags at MEPS if i should be tested again? I've been told they test for protein and blood in the urine to look for liver kidney disorders 3. I PT workout just about every day, is the combination of lactic acid AND ketones too much acidity to have in the system? Will my muscles be able to repair themselves sufficiently enough so i do not lose muscle strength? I'm not necessarily trying to build muscle on this diet. It may seem like a lot of concerns or questions but i like to try and be as thorough as possible. the MAIN concern i have is number 2. MEPS is EXTREMELY selective at least for my branch on who they admit into the armed forces. One small discrepancy on a test and they'll call in the Spartan baby thrower and I'm suddenly out of a job. Please cite your sources I'm also open to any specific diet regimens ketogenic you may have as i have yet to construct one.Thanks Just to clarify, I already know ketogenic diets are primarily used to treat hard to control epilepsy and the rare genetic disorder PDCD. I don't have either of those, I'm simply looking to employ this diet to lose weight.
School lunch ideas for a ketogenic diet?
Can anyone help me with ideas for my lunches? The food at school is terrible. I'm trying to stick to a high protein low carb diet. Although people are going to talk a lot of s but I need to eat lol so screw that.I was thinking grilled or pan fried chicken breast, deli turkey breast, steamed pork, tofu, hardboiled scrambled eggs with cottage cheese, boiled, steamed, pan fried veggies like broccoli, spinach, carrots, lettuce, roasted pumpkin, kidney beans..I was wondering if having a sandwich with multigrain bread 9.4g protein, 22.8g carbs, 5.8g fibre would throw me off because it's not recommended to eat bread on this diet?And I LOVE FRUIT I don't really want to give it up on this diet. Please help

String cheese has casein in it and casein is has a similar molecular structure to glucose. Many diets that cut glucose cut out casein also, so I am wondering if this is the same case with Keto?

alright so i plan on starting a ketosis diet, and im trying to figure out what is the best meals to be consuming, i would be restricting myself on a 500 calories max a day for maybe 12 weeks, during which i will be exercising. i plan on purchasing protein to also work as meal replacements and will start taking vitamin c , vitamin D12, fish oils and another one i forget the name of. please tell me a good plan of action and meals that can keep me interested but still below the bar.
