What kind of epilepsy / anxiety disorder do I have?
Well the reason I think it is Epilepsy is because I've noticed it happening when I see lots of flashing lights, or get too close to my television, like turning down the volume manually, I haven't had a seizure Knock on wood But it's like a panic attack, I'm wondering what could be causing it. I've noticed when Getting up from the couch, or something that could cause a shift in blood pressure, my heart stearts beating uncontrollably. it doesn't stop for a good 10 minutes, it's like thump thump thump then it gets harder like THUMP THUMP THUMP then eventually ends in me freaking out thinking I'm going to have some kind of stroke or something. My doctor gave me some lorazepam but I only take it rarely, one reason being the withdrawl effects, and two being addiction.I'm curious, can someone tell me what I may have? I've had a urinalysis and blood tests, nothing popped up with low blood pressure, or anything of the sort. I'm totaly fine according to these tests, but I know I'm not from what I'm experiencing. Any kind of help could be nice 3When I go for runs or jogs long walks my heart does not get pumping as fast or as hard as this.

If my husband has juvenille myoclonic epilepsy will our future children have epilepsy also?
in x mas 2008 we went to Las Vegas and has a seizure while playing in the slot machine. also that day he had the flu and had a fever also and to top it off he was stressed because he had a crazy work schedule. ok. long story short the neurologist told us he has juvenile myoclonic epilepsy. he had never had a seizure in his life. but his mom does. his older brother and sister are healthy. it's 2010 and he is taking valproic acid 2 pills in the morning and 2 pills at night. we don't have children yet and we are young 24 i am afraid if we have children they will inherit epilepsy...i forgot to mention that in 2007 he was involved in a car accident. no ambulance arrived because he got out of the car on his own... i don't know if he hit his head... he wasn't bleeding or anything

People with epilepsy/seizures.?
I have been diagnosed with a seizure disorder for about 4 years now. The whole time I was pregnant I was seizure free, YAY Now my daughter is 9months old and its like the littlest things bring them on. The past 2 times I have had blood drawn, I have passed out and every time I pass out I have a seizure too. I take Keppra and Lamictal for seizures and have WEIRD side effects from them..I guess I just wanna get some input from people who have seizures and see what kind of side effects they get and what brings them on for you?

What are good, non memory affecting, alternatives to Lamictal for epilepsy?
I have been on Lamictal for the last few years at 400 mg, but I'm really getting frustrated with the memory problems I'm having. They are really starting to interfere with school, and I forsee future work issues as well. Has anyone had success with other meds that don't lead to memory issues or at least less significant ones ? Please don't just say talk to your doctor. Thanks

Who else has got temporal lobe epilepsy?
About a year ago my psychiatrist told me I am Bipolar 2, put me on loads of medication and I just had to deal with it. I wasn't doing too well so two months ago I went to a neurologist, he did a brain scan and told me I have got Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. I am on new medication now but it doesn't seem to work. Has anyone got some advice on how to deal with all these crazy emotions without involving medication?

Pseudoseizures vs epilepsy PLEASE HELP!?
I had a grand mal seizure this past tuesday at work. I was very stressed out. apparently during my seizure I bit my tongue. was foaming at the mouth. and turned blue because of loss of oxygen. my oxygen was at like 60 %. I work in a hospital and we have alot of patients that have pseudoseizures. I am afraid that if my drs do an eeg they will say that i have pseudoseizures when i am really not faking my seizures they are real. Is it possible to have a grand mal seizure that bad when it is actually a grand mal seizure. they have done eegs in the lab and said that my brain waves were abnormal and that i have a high possibility that i would have generalized seizures. but they have just been getting worse. i just don't want them to tell me they are pseudoseizures. is there any way to tell what type of seizures they are if they are at all without doing an eeg? any help would be great

Epilepsy related "aura"?
I have had this weird feeling ever since I was a kid. I am now 21 and my first memory of it was when I was 8. This is what happens. For a brief period, I would say a minute, I get this feeling of being depressed. Its a very intense feeling. Think of deja vu. Similar to that, except that its a feeling of being depressed, like life is very repetitive and boring. And then its gone in the next minute. It doesnt happen often, maybe a couple times a year, sometimes more often. But I definitely recall the first incident happening when I was 8. Im wondering if this has anythingt to do with the " Auras" associated with epilepsy?Im undergoing a few tests as I presume I had a seizure over the weekend.Ive only made the association after reading more about epilepsy. Before that I thought maybe it was just something odd like deja vu and I wouldnt bring it up to a doctor because it was nothing serious. Also, when I was a baby, I was dropped by a little kid who was playing with me. My parents said they took me to heaps of doctors who said I was ok. But with the technology available then and considering they were only physical check ups how accurrate could it be?I dont suffer from any other conditions. I dont drink, smoke or do drugs.Thanks.

Epilepsy health advice?
My father was recently diagnosed with Epilepsy, but when he has attacks they do not resemble a fit in any way he is not concious and can often get out of bed and leave his room. He will make odd muscle movements like reaching for invisible objects and produce sucking noises with his mouth. These attacks will happen on one night a month, usually three 15 mins sets over six hours. Also he does not remember afterwards and he is tired and fragile for a day before making a full recovery. He does not shake or fit as such and it is not like the many youtube e fit videos.I am very worried this is something else other than epilipsy,as the strong medication is not working. Please advise anyone with knowledge of epilepsy of this distressing condition.
